Women who are big fans of Coach bags would probably try to mix business with pleasure and get themselves elegant laptop bags from Coach, in order to match their preferences. Why shouldn’t they, if we think that no women needs 17 laptop bags like they do in the case of evening purses, or handbags, or tote bags, where the more you have, the merrier you get. I know some ladies who prefer laptop totes, but as a business woman myself, I find them a bit too casual for my exigences in what my business meetings are concerned. Briefcases are best in my opinion because they make you look very professional. The look is very important in such meetings. I know excellence doesn’t lay in the clothes you wear or in the bag you take your computer out of, but this is life, this is how people are, so if you want them to react positively, then choose wisely your outfits and accessories, bags and shoes included.
Business is business, therefore let’s take a look into the Coach laptop bags collection.
The first bag that comes to my mind is the Metropolitan Brief: elegant and large, with a business cards holder and three special pen holders, this bag is very appealing to those women who like to be organized and find their things easily. The padded top handle makes it very comfortable to carry, while the 43″ adjustable strap allows you to fit it to your height. Although the briefcase looks a bit too masculine, the nice finish and the rounded turnlock add a touch of feminine elegance to it, so you don’t have to worry that you’ll look like you’ve stolen your husband’s bag for your business meeting. The bag has a generous size, therefore it will accommodate even bigger screen laptops, still leaving a lot of room for your other stuff. You can add a notebook, your wallet, business cards, pens, cell phone and many more items.
Too bad these Coach laptop bags come in only one color: Brass/Black. If you’re lucky to like the black, you’ll be fine, but if you’re rather into “Earth”-like colors, you may want to see our second choice below.
Another bag which comes amongst my favorites when it comes to carrying the laptop is the Embassy brief:
This is more like my taste of laptop bag, because of the small handles and because, besides the classical black, it is also available in British tan color, which matches many of my business outfits. The outside pockets and the extended zipper are very handy and the leather is so soft that it is a pleasure touching it. The inside pocket is divided, so you can organize your stuff pretty well. I found it cool that the bag features an adjustable strap, because it happens so many times that the strap is either too long or too short and there’s nothing to do about that other than returning the bag to the shop where you bought it from. Another cool thing about the Embassy brief is that the handles are padded nicely, therefore acting gently on your hands. This is very important, because laptops are not very light (at least mine isn’t), so you end up carrying a heavy weight. What I dislike a bit about this bag is that it looks a bit boring, it’s so classic, with the buckle looking just like the ones that were in fashion 20 years ago and with the shiny gold hardware which is not the most stylish option out there. Anyway, the two vertical leather stripes applied on the bag save it from being totally dull.
Both these Coach laptop bags have similar prices: the Metropolitan costs $398, while the Embassy Brief is $418 (source: the Coach official website).
If neither of the above match your taste, you still have a few options. The trick is that you don’t really need a dedicated laptop bag. Any bag that’s big enough to accommodate your laptop inside is perfect. Most tote bags are usually large, so you can choose one of them. Diaper bags are also a good choice because of their generous size. Satchels are a bit tricky, as they might fit only smaller laptops or netbooks. Coach has a wide collection of such bags in many styles, sizes and colors, so you’ll probably end up by finding something suitable for you. Take this piece of advice though: it’s best to take your laptop to the bags store and see if it fits inside the bag you want to buy. Even if you want to order your bag online, you can still go to a brick and mortar store and try the bag, then say thank you, don’t buy, go home and order it on the net as you initially wanted. I know this is an additional step that can take a lot of time, but it’s better to be sure the bag fits, otherwise you may end up by paying a few hundred dollars for a bag that you can’t use for the purpose you needed, which is to carry your laptop with you.

I don’t think the brown bag is boring. It’s much better than the black one. I also share your opinion about the adjustable strap. I’m very short and I have difficulties in finding shoulder bags that won’t hang to the ground when I wear them.
I like the Metropolitan Brief. It’s best to have a black laptop bag because it matches pretty much all business outfits one might have. With the brown Coach laptop bag hereby depicted, I wouldn’t be able to dress in red, which is one of my favorite colors.
