Now, let’s see why Coach bags are so different from the Mary Frances handbags: because their leather is special. You’ve been used to read here all kind of articles about Coach leather bags, or about Coach footwear, or about Coach history, but we never tackled Coach leather as a topic in itself. We really should have done that, because leather goods manufacturers like Coach, or Tony Lama, or many others, take their pride in using only top notch quality leather for their products. This is perfectly understandable, if we only think what makes a purse different when we see it in the street? You see sometimes a handbag which has nothing special in design, but yet you can smell the quality from a distance. The secret lays in the materials, in the quality of the leather and accessories, and in the craftsmanship. This is why manually manufactured leather goods are so expensive many times.
Coach Leather and Baseball Gloves
The history of Coach leather goods starts back in 1941, when in New York City, the Coach family took their inspiration from a baseball glove, in creating one of the most famous and appreciated handbags collections worldwide. The first Coach bag was made out of real glove tanned cowhide, and this is exactly what they were advertising in those days of pioneering. The Coach leather was refined, sophisticated, soft, thanks to the thorough refining process it was going though before becoming a purse. In the Mary Frances handbags case, there’s another story, which I’ll share with you in a future article.
