Speaking of duffle bags, we’ve already established how useful they can be for women who like to travel and who need to stop one night on their way to the final destination. A duffle handbag is exactly what you need to accommodate the necessary things for one night, thus saving you from opening your big vacation luggage and pack everything back again the next morning.

Now let’s see which duffle bags you’d prefer to buy. I selected two of my favorites for this comparison: the Coach Signature Duffle Bag and the Vera Bradley Purple Punch Large Duffel.

Coach Signature Duffle Bags

For this comparison, I’m going to talk about the black pieced duffle purse bag from Coach.
The big positives:

  • The 22″ double stitched thick leather shoulder handles got my appreciation, because they are durable yet beautiful and comfortable
  • The two easy access pockets for cellphone, iPod etc are very useful for girls like myself, who stick all kind of things deep into their purse, then complain they cannot find anything inside
  • The fact that it comes with gift box and care card
  • The embossed Coach creed
  • The interior zipper pocket

What I don’t like:

  • The size, which is 12″ x 8″ x 3″ – I wished it were bigger, so I can put more travel items inside
  • The price: at almost $400, I find it slightly too expensive for my budget, but I’m sure there are online merchants who give discounts.
  • The polished nickel hardware – I would have liked it to come with black hardware

Vera Bradley Purple Punch Large Duffel

This is a travel bag with long handles, which is amazingly vivid and cheerful. I just love the combination of colors, from purple to light green, everything on a dark gray background. The 15″ strap drop is very useful, if you want to carry it on your shoulder. The size is generous, at 22″ x 11 1/2″ x 11 1/2″. Priced at $80 on the Vera Bradley official website, this handbag is much closer to my wallet capabilities. However, if I think that I may want to pair it with the travel cosmetic bag, the hanging organizer and the ditty bag from the same Purple Punch collection, I may end up spending maybe even more than if I bought only the Coach duffle.

What do you think? Which duffle bag would you prefer from the two above?
