Cole Haan handbags are definitely not alone. They are part of a larger collection of clothing accessories and shoes. The company was founded 80 years ago, by two creative guys, Trafton Cole and Eddie Haan, who brought innovation into the daily fashion, for the pleasure of many generations of ladies.

Actually, handbags and purses are not the mainstream products of Cole Haan. They are primarily a shoe manufacturer and their biggest gain was the partnership with Nike in creating Cole Haan casual and dress footwear. In fact Nike gave them the athletic based technology. Other accessories in the Cole Haan portfolio are watches, belts, hosiery and other leather accessories. The spokesperson of their last campaign for the Spring 2009 Cole Haan bags and shoes collection is Maria Sharapova, the well-known international tennis champion, who’s not only a great performer but also a very beautiful and stylish lady.

One of their most popular handbags collection is the Cole Haan Village Paillette. Paillettes are nice decorations, but in my opinion they are a bit too edgy to fit casual outfits. However, many modern young ladies largely use such metallic applications on the things they wear, from bags, shirts and skirts, even to their shoes. I kind of like them, but I feel too old for that.

Cole Haan Handbags I Like

I must admit, I’m not a big fan of this style.I’m too old fashioned for Cole Haan bags. However, there is one tote which I enjoy wearing when I go shopping: the Cole Haan Sunset Nylon Tote with patent trim.

Why I like it:

• the blue – black combination goes very well with blue jeans and tee shirts
• the brushed nickel metal hardware from Cole Haan is very durable and it doesn’t draw attention
• the inner back wall with zipper pocket, the open top pocket and the cell phoner pocket make me happy for finding my items very fast
• the size of this tote is enough to accommodate all my summer stuff, from wallet to keys, mobile phone, sunglasses, sight glasses, notebook and even a couple of sandwiches and the book, for the days when I go to the beach
• the detachable long shoulder strap gives me flexibility in wearing this Coole Haan handbag

I almost forgot, but actually I have two Cole Haan handbags. The second one is the Suede Small Denney and I got it as a birthday present when I turned 40, last year.

I’ve got it in exactly this color, which is called Pinot, like the wine. I like it because it is made of suede with smooth leather trim. It goes well with a nice pair of suede shoes I’ve got, but I need to take care not to wear them when it is raining. Although this handbag is not very large, I still have room for a few necessary items. The interior zip accessory pocket and the other two special pockets helping me finding my cellphone and my sunglasses faster. The magnetic snap closure is a bit too loose in my view, and it may draw attention of thieves. However, as I don’t use too much of the public transportation, it’s OK.

As far as I remember, this Cole Haan handbag costs almost $400, but I think I’ve seen a sales promotion where you could get it for only $200.
