I want to talk today about another kind of bags than I usually cover: gadget and computer bags. This idea came to me immediately after I ordered my iPad: now what else do I need? Shall I get an iPad bag or one of those finest leather iPad cases, or do I need both items? Would I also need a wireless keyboard or shall I be fine with the virtual keyboard? What kind of other iPad accessories do I have to buy for enjoying my newest acquisition to the fullest?

leather ipad cases: The WalkaboutAs you can see, lots of thoughts triggered lots of wish lists and when I did the math I was astounded about how much I can spend additionally and still feel like not having enough accessories for my new gadget. Of course I can always stuff my iPad in one of those tote bags I already have, but still, it is at risk to get scratched by my keys or by other sharp items that may happen to be in my purse. This means I’d really have to buy a good screen protector and some silicone case or neoprene sleeve to protect the iPad all around. Since I’ll anyway need a case, why not buy a really exquisite one, then? I have to admit I like to impress people, so I can’t go cheap with accessories. This is why I decided to get a leather case from Case-Mate: The Walkabout. You can see it in the photo: it’s slim, elegant and not very expensive, so that’s what I want my iPad to wear when we go together to business meetings and presentations. I like the magnetic closure system because it’s secure and in the same time very easy to open when needed. I also like the feel of this case and I’m crazy about its color.

So, I ordered my leather iPad case, but now I’m left with another concern: what if my leather case will get scratched by the keys or by other sharp items in my purse? Do I need two bags, one for the usual stuff and one for the iPad? How can one look elegant with two bags on her shoulder? OK, I found a fix for that, but first I’d like to hear from you what do you think it’s best to keep your iPad in: a case, a bag or a case in a bag? Or perhaps I could just use a laptop sleeve and call it a day?
