coach bags

Do you know what makes a Coach city bag so great? If you own such a bag, than you’ve probably guessed the answer. Briefly, it’s all about affordable luxury. Actually I think this is the essence of the Coach brand. All their bags look like those crazy expensive designer bags, but don’t make you take so much money out of your pockets.

I know bags and fashion accessories in general are personal, so preferences are hardly to be discussed. Yet, I’ve been thinking to make a personal top of the best Coach city bags I have or I intend to buy in the closest future.

New Tribeca Logo Collage Tote

The mixture of leather and Signature satin makes this bag the perfect choice for creative women, regardless their job or their trade of choice. We are used from early childhood to associate collages with creativity, so my feeling has probably something to do with my years as a child when I loved to make collages from everything. Back to our bags, what I appreciate very much at Coach is the discretion they manifest when branding their fashion accessories. The Tribeca Logo Collage tote has a simple Horse & Carriage logo plaque and a button branding. That’s all, but it speaks volumes about the elegance of countless generations and collections of bags and purses.

This Coach tote is not only beautiful, but also very functional, with its two exterior gusseted side pockets and with those multifunctional interior pockets that help the owner not go crazy when trying to find the car keys or the cell phone inside. Of course, for the keys, you can make use of the already so popular keyfob ring. The 9″ drop leather straps have a very fine chain detail. This city tote has the size of 16″ 3/4 x 14″ 1/4 x 4″, which makes it suitable to hold a book or a small notebook or mini laptop.

Coach Madison Sabrina

This is a city bag that can be used as a satchel or as a shoulder bag, because it features a convertible strap, very convenient in some day to day situations. When you don’t want to carry the bag on the shoulder, you can simply fold and attach the 22″ strap to the bottom of the bag. What impressed me most at this bag was maybe not the shape, as I’m already used to it from other collections, but the leather. This Italian leather is so fine and so smooth to the touch that you can’t believe it’s true. It has a subtle texture and a polished finish which make me worry a bit when I think about the moment when it will need cleaning. The grass green with brass hardware is by far my favorite out of the four available colors, followed by the back one. The Coach Madison Sabrina as I see it, fits best to the classical type of girl who doesn’t want to shine and glow wherever she goes, but rather draw attention by simplicity and style.

The New Coach Garnet

One of the latest entries in the Coach bags collections for fall 2009 is Garnet. It features 20 exquisite bags with an incredibly elegant shape and spacious enough to accommodate all must-have items of the modern city girl. Interested buyers have the choice of getting the bag in soft pleated leather, Coach Signature sateen fabric with or without lurex, a pieced combination of plain and patent pleated leather, or in embossed crocodile. If you go for the crocodile, you’ll have to pay more than double the price, but it’s surely a beautiful choice if you can afford it. This is a city bag for sophisticated women, but not an eye catcher.
